WalkPlanners

We’ve given it a bit of thought

... and come to the view that existing guides to Britain’s national trails and mountains aren’t actually what most walkers need when planning their outings.

We’ve gone back to the drawing board: much as we did with our Where to Ski resort guides, we’re taking a simple approach – creating the guides that we would want to use when making our own plans.

We’re starting with the wonderful and very long South West Coast Path. The first publication will be a two-sided 1:200k map crammed with additional information on the path, lodgings, transport etc planned for publication early in 2025. In 2026 we may go on to a similar map covering the Lakeland fells, before resuming our original plan to produce detailed guide-books to the SWCP.

At this stage we don’t want to give away any more detail. We’ll reveal all some time in the spring of 2025, when advance review copies are ready to send to the media. You can be among the first to know more by subscribing to our newsletters – click on the link below.

Meanwhile, the SWCP Map page gives access to some of the info we're assembling. Enjoy!
